Kwankwaso: 100 Kano Indigenes for Aviation Training

Kano State Government is to partner Mideast Aviation Academy in the
training of its students in piloting and aviation engineering.
The state Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, made this known while receiving the General Manager of Mideast Aviation Academy Mr. Abdallah Twerish in his office yesterday. This came as Kwankwaso also called on parents to invest in the education of their children.

The governor said the state government through the Office of Secretary
to the State Government would select 100 students that are most qualify
to undergo the training in three aviations colleges in Zaria, Ilorin and
Jordan.
He explained that because none of the aviation colleges in Nigeria can
handle the training of 100 pilots from the state that was why they
approached the institute to help in the training the students.
The General Manager of the Mideast Aviation Academy, Mr. Abdallah
Twerish, said he was in Kano to brief the governor on the activities of
his institute and sign an agreement on behalf of the academy in Jordan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the second Quranic recitation
competition organised by Senator Basheer Garba, representing Kano
central senatorial district, Kwankwaso noted that education was the only
lasting legacy parents could leave for their children.

and called on other wealthy Muslims to emulate him and charged parents
to ensure good moral upbringing of their children so as to contribute
their quota towards the development of the society.
In his remarks, the chairman of the Quranic recitation committee,
Alhaji Salati Indabawa, said a total 145 students from various Islamiyya
schools across the 16 local government areas in the senatorial district
were screened for the exercise.
He cautioned the participants to exhibit good moral conduct during and after the programme.
