I Have No Hand In Bola Ige’s Murder — Omisore

Former Chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has absolved himself from the assassination of the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minster of justice of the federation, Chief Bola Ige.
Chief Ige, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) was murdered on December 23, 2001 at his Bodija, Ibadan residence in Oyo state.
Speaking in Ibadan, yesterday, on the topic: ‘’Dividends of democracy: Are Nigerians being shortchanged, Senator Omisore said that the court of law itself wondered why he was, in the first instance, arraigned and prosecuted when there was nothing linking him with the murder.
“I have never in my life fought anybody not to talk of killing a fellow human being. The issue I had with the former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande was political and ideological.
“In my own case, there was a lie that has gone for too long about the death of uncle Bola Ige. in spite of the court judgment on the issue, I have waited till this time thinking that they would follow the path of reason, truth, and honest conscience, but they would not as they have found it politically expedient and a soft pad for opportunism’’ he added.
Senator Omisore pointed out that  truth, no matter  and in whatever any form it was viewed, would remain the truth and added ‘’that he died at the time he did was indeed a sad moment in  our local  and collective history particularly giving his contributions in the polity.
