Kaduna Bombings, Reprisal Attacks: We Have Made Some Arrests – CP

 

Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Muhammed Jinjiri Abubakar has said that Youths within the Kaduna metropolis took undue advantage of the relaxed curfew in the state to launch a fresh riot, even as he said some arrests have been made.
According to the commissioner, major highways and roads in the metropolis were yesterday blocked by rampaging youths who were said to be on revenge mission on the death of their supposed kinsmen in the Sunday bomb blast reprisal attacks in some parts of the city.
Places mostly affected, according to eyewitness, were the Eastern bypass, Ibrahim Taiwo road, Abubakar Gumi Central market among others, but the Police command said, “We were able to dismantle all the road blocks mounted by the rioters.”
Briefing news men on the fresh attacks and the last Sunday bomb blasts in Zaria and Kaduna, Abubakar said the state   governor, Patrick Ibrahim relaxed the curfew out of his kind heartedness to prevent the people from experiencing hunger and hardship in the cause of  the curfew.
Although, the police boss refused to say whether there were casualties in the fresh attacks which he said would be made known at a later date, unofficial report however said that some people were killed along Nnamdi Azikiwe Eastern bypass with several others injured.
