NDLEA arrests 136 in A’Ibom
AKWA Ibom State command of the National Drug Law Enforcement
Agency (NDLEA) has between January and June 2012 arrested about 136
offenders in the state.
This was disclosed by the state commander, Josephine Obi, while addressing journalists in her office in commemoration of 202 United Nations Anti-Drug Trafficking and Abuse Day.
Of the months, March recorded the highest number of arrests with 51 males and three females, totaling 54 arrests in that month.
From the records made available to reporters, within the period under review, 117 males were arrested, while only 19 females were also apprehended.
According to Obi, seven persons are at large within the period, adding that, about 86.766kilo grams made up of 17.100gms of cocaine, 46.602gms of heroine and 86.702kg off cannabis sativa were seized.
