Kaduna Curfew Relaxed
After observing that relative calm had returned to the state this
afternoon, Kaduna State government has relaxed the 24 hours curfew
imposed on the state yesterday after bomb attacks on some churches and
the deadly reprisal attacks that followed.
The Special Assistant to Kaduna Governor on Media, Reuben Buhari who confirmed the information to P.M.NEWS, said people can now move from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, Monday and tomorrow, Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.According
to him, the decision to relax the curfew came as a result of
intelligence and security report from security agencies that normaly had
been restored at yesterday’s trouble spots.
He maintained that Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa has warned that anyone found attempting to breach the relative calm restored in the state will be dealt with appropriately.
Over 100 people were reportedly killed yesterday when three churches were bombed in Kaduna and Zaria followed by a reprisal attack by Christian youths on Muslims.
