House of Reps summon Jonathan over Boko Haram
Considering the unabated violence that has been raging parts of the country, the House of Representatives on Tuesday, summoned President Goodluck Jonathan.
The president is expected to appear before a plenary session of the House of Representatives, on a preferred date, with his defence chiefs to officially brief the lawmakers on the current state of insecurity in the northern part of the country. This is an historic summon as the president only addreses the National Assembly annually during budget presentation, and occasionally during the visit of some international dignitaries.
